The Three Types
Non-insulated — the standard line. Fast heating, positioned for offices, cafés and small canteens where the boiler runs on demand and draws are spread through the day.
Insulated PUF — the same four capacities with PUF insulation built into the body. It keeps water hot longer between draws and saves electricity, and it is the version recommended over the standard. The gallon figures in brackets are how the trade often quotes urn sizes — 2, 4, 6 and 9 gallons — so if a spec sheet or an older purchase order talks in gallons, this is the same ladder. Note that the insulated and non-insulated lines mirror each other size for size: 111102 and 111202 are the same 9-litre machine with and without insulation, and so on up the range. That makes the buying order simple — pick the capacity first, then decide the insulation question, rather than weighing both at once.
Choosing a Size
Capacity maps to how many people draw hot water at once, and how continuously. The 9L suits an office pantry or a small café counter where the boiler covers tea rounds and the odd prep task. The 18L is the busy café and mid-size restaurant size — enough buffer that a rush does not empty it. The 27L and 40L are canteen and institutional sizes, for counters where service is effectively continuous and a smaller tank would spend the whole day recovering.
